Commodity Watch: Copper futures gain on higher demand

New Delhi: Copper futures rose by Rs 15.35 to Rs 1,191.95 per kg on Wednesday due to higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery grew 1.3 per cent, in a business turnover of 1,465 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on positive trend
Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.7 per cent to Rs 309.95 per kg in futures trade as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in March increased by Rs 2.15 in 180 lots.
Zinc futures climb on high bets
Zinc prices rose Rs 2.45 to Rs 323.30 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up by 0.76 per cent in a turnover of 71 lots.
